In northern Russia, ongoing tactical setbacks among Russian occupation forces are raising serious concerns among military analysts and Ukrainian command.

According to Ukraine’s Chief of General Staff, Andriy Gnatov, following unsuccessful attempts at advancing in spring and summer, Russian troops have been forced to undertake large-scale regrouping of their units.

This maneuver aims to create conditions for new offensives and to continue aggression in regions where their successes have been minimal or nonexistent.Gnatov emphasized that enemy actions in the south- and north-Slobozhansk directions, particularly in Kharkiv and Sumy regions, currently appear as tactical failures.

Russian offensive forces have failed to achieve desired results, casting doubt on their effectiveness and combat readiness.

The Ukrainian military official pointed out that the illusion of a swift Russian army victory, propagated by Russian propaganda, is crucial for Vladimir Putin’s regime to maintain internal and external stability.

The narrative is used to persuade the Ukrainian population to support the continuation of the war. However, the reality at the front differs significantly.

According to Ukrainian intelligence and military sources, Russian forces are suffering considerable losses and are losing battles in many directions.

They continue operations that are largely tactical and often end in defeat, but they actively replenish their resources and personnel to sustain offensive actions.”They do not stop even after significant failures, trying to advance another 50-100 meters at the cost of losing 200-300 of their soldiers,” Gnatov said.

This reflects a tactic that results in high casualties while strategic goals—shifting the front or achieving significant advances—remain distant.

Meanwhile, Russian authorities continue to seek new diversionary units, including the so-called “infected” units spotted near Pokrovsk.

These units are believed to have special structures or weaponry that could cause serious complications for Ukrainian forces.Additionally, recent statements from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy indicated that Moscow is preparing for new large-scale offensives this fall.

Ukrainian forces have already thwarted two major enemy breakthroughs in the summer, and the possible third operation could become decisive for the war’s further course.

Projections suggest that execution of this plan will be a key moment in the coming days, and Ukrainian defenders are actively working to counter these threats.Overall, the situation remains tense and dynamic.

Despite tactical setbacks, Ukrainian troops continue demonstrating resilience, and allied countries worldwide are closely monitoring developments, preparing for any possible scenarios in this ongoing conflict.
