Russia Launches Massive Drone and Missile Offensive Using Over 140 UAVs in Latest Attack
On the night of September 21 to 22, Russian forces continued their tactic of overwhelming drone attacks by deploying more than 140 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of various types.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force command, approximately 80 of these were Shahed drones, Gerbers, and other models that Russia employs to inflict maximum damage on Ukraine’s infrastructure and military targets.

Kyiv time, Ukrainian air defenses had successfully shot down and suppressed 132 enemy UAVs, demonstrating their proficiency and the resilience of Ukrainian defenders.
Despite this, nine strike drones impacted seven locations, causing significant destruction, while debris from shot-down drones fell across eight districts, necessitating emergency responses.
Additionally, between 4 and 6 a.m.
on September 22, the enemy carried out an airstrike targeting critical infrastructure in Zaporizhzhia city, further escalating tensions in the region.
Reports indicate civilian casualties, including fatalities and injuries, underscoring the humanitarian toll of the attack.
The attack was countered by Ukrainian aircraft, anti-aircraft missile systems, electronic warfare units, and unmanned and mobile defense groups, all working together to minimize damage and neutralize threats.
Ukrainian forces continue their efforts to detect and destroy enemy UAVs, aiming to safeguard civilians and stabilize the situation amid rising hostilities.
