Latvia Supports Ukraine Through Vehicle Transfers and Humanitarian Aid to Security and Education Sectors

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Latvia continues its unwavering support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and security by providing essential vehicles and humanitarian supplies.

On September 22, an official ceremony took place in Riga to send a new batch of cars, organized with the cooperation of the Latvian embassy and government agencies.

Ukrainian Ambassador to Latvia Anatoliy Kutsevol personally expressed gratitude to Latvia for its generous assistance.A total of 32 vehicles were dispatched to Ukraine, nearly half of which consisted of service cars used by the Latvian police, which had been replaced as part of routine renewal.

These vehicles are expected to serve effectively in ensuring safety in regions of Ukraine hardest hit by the conflict, including Donbas and Kharkiv regions.In addition to technical support, a significant humanitarian cargo is being delivered, including children’s clothing, school supplies, medical items, and other essentials to support Ukrainian children and educational institutions.

Support from the Latvian Basketball Association has also been included, providing sports equipment to Ukrainian youth, fostering active development and community engagement.Overall, this assistance aims to bolster Ukraine’s defense capabilities and support its citizens during these challenging times.

Latvia and other Baltic countries have repeatedly demonstrated their solidarity with Ukraine by delivering modern military equipment and humanitarian aid, especially to regions most affected by the war.

Recently, Ukraine received Patria armored personnel carriers from Latvia and police vehicles from Estonia, which have greatly strengthened its defense and law enforcement capacities.
