On Monday morning, September 22, the city of Zaporizhzhia once again found itself at the epicenter of enemy shelling, which lasted nearly forty minutes and caused significant destruction and loss of life.

According to Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, the enemy launched several guided bombs from tactical aircraft targeted at various urban areas.

This attack, occurring early in the morning, resulted in the deaths of three civilians, with two more injured.

Fedorov reported that around 4:50 AM, the enemy conducted a massive missile strike on the city, though some of the projectiles were intercepted by local defense forces.

The main affected districts included Kosmihy Microdistrict, where the attackers struck the parking area again, and Shevchenkivskyi District, where residential buildings suffered damage.

There were also hits near shopping centers and critical infrastructure, which led to temporary restrictions on traffic along the embankment.

Fedorov emphasized that none of the destroyed objects were related to military targets and described the attack as deliberate terror against peaceful residents and urban facilities.

Initially, reports indicated two fatalities, but rescuers found a woman under the debris of a collapsed building — she could not be saved.

Two others were wounded and taken to hospitals: a 20-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy, who experienced shock and stress.

President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that the attack damaged 15 multi-story buildings and dozens of private houses in Zaporizhzhia.

Rescue operations and debris clearing are still ongoing at the sites of impact.
