Ukrainian Armed Forces Advance in the North of Sumy Region and Around Pokrovsk: Latest Data and Geolocation Confirmations

In recent weeks, Ukrainian defenders have demonstrated significant progress on the frontlines, particularly in the Sumy region and near the city of Pokrovsk in Donetsk.
These developments are supported by recent reports from the American Institute for Study of War (ISW), which analyzes the battlefield situation based on geolocation videos and reports from sources on both sides of the conflict.
According to their findings, Ukrainian troops have managed to push forward northeast of Kyndrativka, located at the border of Sumy region, and have advanced further north of the city of Sumy, indicating an active counteroffensive.
The analysis of geolocation videos published on September 20 confirms the increasing successes of Ukrainian forces in this sector.
Meanwhile, Russian troops continue to hold positions and conduct active combat operations in the Pokrovsk direction, as evidenced by reports from Russian military bloggers.
They indicate Russian advances in the western parts of Novotoretske and Boykivka, both situated northeast of Pokrovsk.
Geolocation data from September 19 also show Russian efforts in the western areas of Novoeconomichesky.
The progress of Ukrainian troops in this zone is further supported by Ukrainian information sources like DeepState, which recently updated their interactive maps and confirms ongoing counteroffensive operations around Dobropillia and Pokrovsk, including the liberation of several settlements.
Preliminary reports state that Ukrainian forces have already regained control over more than 330 kilometers of front line in this sector, strongly suggesting a significant Ukrainian push that continues to reshape the battlefield landscape.
