As a result of large-scale military aggression by Russia, the Sumy region experienced heavy shelling using various types of weaponry, causing significant destruction and human casualties.

Over recent days, the occupiers launched attacks on 26 towns and villages across 16 communities in the region, employing drones, artillery, and other weapon systems.

The consequences of these attacks are palpable: infrastructure objects have been damaged, buildings set ablaze, and fires ignited in certain areas.

Notably, a 62-year-old man was injured during a drone attack in the Sumy community, challenging local emergency and medical services.

Reports indicate that explosions caused a major fire that firefighters managed to extinguish promptly.

Additionally, non-residential buildings were damaged in the Rychkivska community, a private house was destroyed in Velykopysarivska, and Vорожбянська sustained damage to both residential structures and road infrastructure.

Experts and law enforcement emphasize that these strikes are not only military but also targeted destruction of vital residential and energy sectors.

Russia has further intensified attacks on the region’s energy infrastructure, which may lead to additional hardships for residents and authorities.

Moreover, several days ago, Ukrainian forces detected drone strikes on Yunakivska, Sumy, and Trostianetska communities, confirming increased escalation and aggressive actions by Russia.

Civilian buildings and infrastructure have been damaged, and several civilians, including adults and children, wounded.

Local authorities stress that the situation remains tense, and emergency services are working tirelessly to restore damaged infrastructure and protect the population from continued attacks.
