Russian Drones Launch Extensive Attack: 54 UAVs Target Ukrainian Defense Sites

During the night from September 20 to 21, Russian forces carried out a large-scale attack on Ukrainian air defenses, deploying a significant number of unmanned aerial vehicles.
According to the Ukrainian Air Forces, the enemy attempted to breach our defenses with a total of 54 attack drones of various types, prominently including Shahed and Heron models.
Weather reports indicate that about 30 of these drones were Shaheds, which Russia extensively uses for high-tech sabotage and strikes on Ukrainian infrastructure.
Official data shows that Ukrainian forces managed to down or neutralize 33 of the UAVs, but 21 drones still managed to reach their targets.
The attack resulted in damage across at least eight locations, with reported destruction and injuries.
Notably, in the Chernihiv region, patrol officers and medical personnel responding to the drone crash site came under renewed fire, escalating tensions and creating additional hazards for local residents and emergency responders.
Ukrainian military and law enforcement agencies are enhancing security measures and preparing for potential new attacks, as the enemy continues to innovate in their drone tactics for reconnaissance and targeted strikes against Ukrainian territory.
