On Ukraine’s northern borders of Donetsk region, conflict zones are witnessing new breakthroughs and territorial advances by Russian forces, raising alarms among Ukrainian society and military strategists alike.

Recent reports indicate increased activity by Russian troops along two critical sectors near the borders of Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions, suggesting strategic maneuvers aimed at expanding occupation zones.According to DeepState information sources, Russian forces have advanced into the village of Berezove on the Novopavlivske direction, which lies at the junction of three administrative regions.

Additionally, near the village of Novoivanivka in Zaporizhzhia oblast, Russian aggressors demonstrated increased activity.

Newly published interactive maps reveal significant shifts in frontlines, indicating a tangible push by Russian troops into Ukrainian-controlled territories. The current situation has been corroborated by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) in the United States, which in its daily briefing highlights geolocation-based footage from September 20.

These materials show Russian soldiers raising flags over several locations in Berezove, suggesting a potential occupation of this settlement.Russian media reports confirm control over Berezove, which heightens concerns among Ukrainian military officials and policymakers.

Meanwhile, Russian sources mention advances by approximately 500 meters toward Oleksandrohrad and Orestopol, although these claims have not been officially verified.

This ongoing uncertainty complicates tactical assessments. The Ukrainian General Staff announced that Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled 17 enemy attacks in districts including Filia, Andriivka-Klevtsove, Sicheve, Maliivka, Komshevaha, and Novoivanivka, as well as in directions toward Berezove and Novovasilivske.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian efforts in the northern Sumy region and near Pokrovsk have already produced notable results.Overall, the operational landscape remains tense and complex.

Ukrainian forces must stay vigilant, adapt to rapid developments, and prepare for multiple scenarios, as the enemy continues to strengthen its hold in the south and east, seeking to destabilize the situation further.

Ukrainian defenders are mobilizing reserves and executing active counteroffensive operations in key sectors, determined to defend the sovereignty and integrity of their homeland.
