On Wednesday, September 20, Ukraine marked a significant diplomatic milestone — the official start of the duties of new ambassadors representing Germany, Norway, and the Czech Republic.

According to the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s social media statement, the head of state personally accepted credentials from the newly appointed diplomats during this day.

Zelensky highlighted the importance of strengthening friendly relations and cooperation in key areas, including security and defense, which are particularly relevant given current regional challenges.

The presentation of credentials is a formal act signifying the official beginning of the mission of each diplomat.

It is noted that prior to this ceremony, Norway’s ambassador Lars Hansen already submitted copies of his credentials to Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the beginning of September.

The Czech Republic’s new ambassador, Luboš Veselá, arrived in Kyiv also at the start of September.

Meanwhile, Germany’s new ambassador to Ukraine, Heiko Toms, presented his credentials earlier this week, replacing his predecessor Martin Eger, who stepped down to assume a leadership role at Germany’s Federal Intelligence Service.

Zelensky expressed gratitude to all diplomats for their work and conveyed confidence that the cooperation between Ukraine and these countries would only grow stronger, contributing to regional security and stability.
