On the night of September 20, Ukraine’s air defense forces once again demonstrated their high efficiency in countering enemy attacks.

During this period, the occupiers launched one of the largest combined strikes against Ukrainian territory, utilizing a record number of equipment — a total of 619 drones and missiles of various types.

Of these, 583 were successfully intercepted or suppressed by air defense units. The attack involved 579 unmanned aerial vehicles, 8 Iskander-M and KN-23 ballistic missiles, and 32 long-range Kh-101 cruise missiles.

The increased number of drones indicates a new level of aggressiveness, as the enemy aimed to maximize the challenges for Ukrainian air defense.

Although most targets were neutralized, some munitions managed to hit their designated locations — in total, missile and drone strikes impacted 10 sites with successful hits and destroyed weapons. This ongoing effort reaffirms the combat readiness and high capability of the Ukrainian armed forces, notably supported by modern F-16 fighters, which provide air cover and strike capabilities.

Analysts suggest that such large-scale attacks highlight the escalating intensity of fighting in the east and south of Ukraine, and the country remains on the frontlines defending its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
