Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that Russia continues to dismiss the international community’s calls, especially those from Donald Trump, for a swift and comprehensive ceasefire.

According to the head of state, the aggressor country persistently targets civilians and Ukrainian infrastructure while global powers, primarily the United States and allies, press for peace and diplomatic solutions.

Zelensky pointed out that Washington has expressed support for Ukraine’s peace initiatives, proposing concrete steps such as expanding the PURL program, joint arms manufacturing, and security guarantees.

He highlighted that major deals involving drone deployments and weapons procurement are on the table, urging more resolute actions to push Russia towards dialogue.

The Ukrainian leader stressed that achieving peace requires Russia and other stakeholders to agree to negotiations, which calls for intensified diplomatic efforts.

Additionally, Zelensky mentioned recent signals from Washington indicating potential sanctions against Russia, though no concrete measures have yet been implemented.

Meanwhile, U.S.

President Donald Trump has demanded Europe cease all purchases of Russian energy resources as a prerequisite for future sanctions.

On September 18, Trump reiterated that Russian leader Vladimir Putin let him down, asserting that Russia’s revenue from energy exports plays a crucial role in the ongoing conflict.
