US Approves Potential $780 Million Sale of Javelin Anti-Tank Systems to Poland: A New Step in Strengthening European Defense
The US government has officially approved the potential transfer of state-of-the-art Javelin anti-tank missile systems along with related equipment to Poland, with a total value estimated at approximately 780 million dollars.
This decision forms part of a systematic US policy aimed at supporting NATO allies and enhancing their defense capabilities against emerging geopolitical threats.
According to an official statement from the Pentagon’s Security Cooperation Agency, this sale has been pre-approved by Congress, following the standard procedure for large-scale defense agreements.Poland intends to purchase 2,506 FGM-148F Javelin anti-tank missiles and 253 launchers of this system, significantly boosting their military strength.
The total value of the deal reaches around 780 million dollars, marking a strategic move for both sides.
US representatives have emphasized that this cooperation not only supports US foreign policy and national security interests but also strengthens military stability across Europe, especially within NATO member countries.It is noted that this sale will not negatively impact the operational readiness of the US armed forces, while allowing Poland to expand its arsenal and improve its national defense.
Earlier in May, the US also approved the sale of Javelin missile systems to Estonia valued at approximately 296 million dollars.
In July, the US announced guarantees for a 4-billion-dollar loan to Poland for military rearmament, reflecting a clear policy of regional stability support.
