Trump Predicts Future Peace in Ukraine and Expresses Disappointment in Russia’s Policies
The President of the United States, Donald Trump, recently made a statement emphasizing Washington’s commitment to helping restore peace and stability in the region after the end of the war initiated by Russia against Ukraine.
In an interview with Fox News, he highlighted that he believes reaching a resolution is possible and entirely feasible, and that a peaceful settlement in Ukraine could ultimately bring the long-awaited negotiations.
Trump admitted that the process of ending the conflict turned out to be more complicated than he initially expected and expressed his disappointment with the actions and behavior of the Russian leadership, particularly Vladimir Putin.
According to him, he had always hoped that his good relations with Putin would facilitate a quick and smooth diplomatic solution, but now he finds the situation more unpredictable and less hopeful.
Trump also noted that the most challenging aspect of the conflict is the strained relationship between Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
“It turns out they dislike each other intensely, which complicates finding a compromise,” he said.
Furthermore, he believes resolving the conflict is possible, and one way to do so would be through Europe stopping the purchase of Russian oil.
“If oil prices fall or if Russia stops selling oil altogether, they will lose a significant source of income and be forced to negotiate.
This could pave the way for an end to the war and stabilize the situation,” he commented.
In conclusion, Trump expressed hope for a resolution but conveyed that influencing Putin to cease the war is becoming more difficult, leaving him feeling somewhat disappointed.
