Suspicious debris, believed to be a missile fragment possibly used to down a Ukrainian drone, found near Lublin, Poland

In a small village called Hojny, located less than thirty kilometers from Lublin, a local resident discovered an unusual and suspicious object.
The item appeared to be fragments consistent with missile debris, potentially linked to the missile used during the nighttime attack by Russia on Ukraine on September 10.
Authorities confirmed that the recovered debris has been handed over to military police for further investigation.
The military police indicated that these are likely remnants of a missile launched to destroy drones during the attack.
A detailed examination and investigation are scheduled for September 19, with law enforcement officials and military forensic experts working collaboratively with the prosecutor’s office in Lublin to establish all circumstances surround the find.
This discovery comes amid heightened tensions after, on September 10, approximately twenty Russian drones crossed into Polish territory in what was the first mass incursion, with some penetrating nearly 300 kilometers deep into Poland.
Following these events, the Ukrainian and Polish defense ministers—Denys Shmyhal and Vladyslav Kosinjak-Kamis—agreed to strengthen cooperation between their defense industries to bolster national security.
This situation underscores the escalating security challenges faced by NATO and Poland, emphasizing the urgent need to reinforce defense strategies in response to new wartime threats.
