Significant Drop in Donald Trump’s Approval Ratings: Record Low Support in the U.S. Population

According to a weekly survey conducted by YouGov in collaboration with The Economist, former U.S.
President Donald Trump’s approval ratings have plummeted to the lowest levels recorded during his time in office.
The survey, carried out from September 12 to 15, 2023, among 1,567 Americans, revealed that only 39% of respondents approve of his performance as president.
This marks a decline from 41% in the previous three weeks and 40% at the end of summer.
Conversely, the level of disapproval has risen sharply, reaching a record 57%, indicating growing public dissatisfaction with Trump’s leadership.
Experts suggest that this decline is associated with increasing global instability, worsened by the United States’ perceived retreat from an active role on the world stage.
Despite this trend, support among registered voters remains somewhat higher—43%.
Among Republicans, approval remains high at 88%, while among independents, support has significantly fallen to 28%, compared to the 64% who disapprove.
Political analysts warn that it is premature to judge whether this decline is temporary or symptomatic of a longer-term trend.
Overall, this dynamic reflects the numerous internal and external challenges faced by the former president and carries potential consequences for his future political prospects.
