In the Baltic Sea region, another provocation by Russian military aircraft has been recorded — on Friday morning, three Russian MiG-31 fighters entered Estonian airspace over the Gulf of Finland without permission, violating international borders and creating a potential security threat for the country.

This is not the first such incident recently, and it has raised serious concerns among NATO allies.

Allison Hart, a NATO spokesperson, quickly confirmed that NATO forces responded immediately — intercepting the Russian aircraft and recording this aggressive behavior.

According to Hart, such actions by Russia demonstrate irresponsibility and a disregard for international rules, potentially leading to escalation in the region.

In response to the incident, Estonia summoned the temporary Russian chargé d’affaires and officially lodged a protest.

EU diplomat Kaja Kallas described this provocation as extremely dangerous and a threat to regional stability.

Earlier that day, it was also reported that Russian fighters patrol over the Gulf of Finland for over 12 minutes without permission, which alarmed the Baltic states and NATO members.

This incident highlights the importance of unity and readiness to defend collective security amid increasing challenges from the East.

Support for Ukraine and strengthening allied defense capabilities are crucial elements of NATO’s strategy to deter any acts of aggression by Russia.
