How to Submit an Online Application for Social Assistance: A Comprehensive Guide for Ukrainians
In today’s digital age, the delivery of governmental services increasingly shifts to remote formats, greatly simplifying the process for citizens.
Starting from July 1, 2025, the internal administration of social assistance for Ukrainian citizens is managed by the Pension Fund of Ukraine (PFU).
This change introduces automation in processing and allows applicants to submit their requests online, eliminating the need for physical visits to government offices.The PFU has launched a new electronic service on its official website, enabling Ukrainians to apply online for various types of state social benefits.
This development significantly reduces the time and effort required to process applications, providing a convenient alternative especially for those seeking assistance due to disabilities, victims of the Chernobyl disaster, participants in the liquidation of its consequences, individuals who have lost earnings because of radiation contamination, as well as large families and persons with disabilities.To access this service, users must log in using a qualified electronic signature (QES).
After authentication, in the „Communications with PFU“ section of their personal account, they should select the option „Specific types of state social assistance.“ Here, applicants will find an online form to complete, providing personal data, identification document details, and information about their registration and residence.All mandatory fields marked with an asterisk „*“ must be filled out.
The application allows choosing a method of payment—either via mail or bank transfer—and entering relevant banking or postal details.
Applicants can include information about family members, such as other beneficiaries, and declare income details if applicable.
It is also possible to upload scanned copies of necessary documents as indicated in the menu.Once the form is completed and reviewed, applicants should click „Sign and submit to the PFU.“ After processing, the status of the application can be tracked under „My Requests“ – „Application Status.“ This digital approach streamlines the process and accelerates access to social support for those in need.
