For several days now, Belarus has been at the center of a significant logistical crisis, triggered by the sudden closure of the Polish border.

According to the latest reports, more than a thousand Polish freight trucks and buses that were traveling through Belarus have become stranded at border checkpoints.

This situation is creating serious challenges for Polish carriers and drivers who are caught in an uncertain situation requiring urgent support.

The Polish Ministry of Infrastructure announced that approximately 1,300 vehicles are currently under its jurisdiction, with some having the legal right to remain in Belarus, while most are still waiting.

Officials from Belarus confirmed that they are actively cooperating with Polish counterparts to facilitate drivers’ return home and prevent a humanitarian crisis.

Continuous consultations are underway between ministries, border agencies, and transport associations from both countries.

Belarusian authorities state that vehicles temporarily in Belarus are allowed to stay for up to ten days; however, this period has been extended an additional ten days, until September 27–28.

Poland emphasizes that the border closure is temporary, serving as a measure to ensure the safety of its citizens and control illegal migration.

This crisis presents a significant challenge to the logistics sectors of both nations and calls for swift, coordinated action from governments and international partners.
