The Ukrainian men’s volleyball team faced another setback at the 2025 World Championship held in the Philippines, after losing an important final group stage match against Italy.

The confrontation proved crucial in determining which teams advance to the knockout phase, but unfortunately, under the leadership of coach Raul Losano, the Ukrainians were unable to overcome the formidable Italian opposition.

Throughout the match, Ukraine struggled to adapt to the challenging conditions and fought valiantly in each set, even managing a two-point lead in the second set.

However, Italy proved superior and secured a straight-sets victory with scores of 25:21, 25:22, and 25:18.

Earlier in the tournament, Ukraine lost to Belgium (0:3) but defeated Algeria (3:0).

Despite these results, the team placed only third in Group F, which was insufficient for advancing to the next stage.

This loss meant the end of Ukraine’s journey in the championship.

It is worth noting that Italy’s women’s team secured their second world title in history, highlighting Italy’s strength in the sport.

Meanwhile, Ukraine’s volleyball campaign concludes without reaching the playoffs, confirming the high level of competition faced during the tournament.
