British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak plans to officially declare the recognition of Palestinian statehood during the upcoming weekend, shortly after the conclusion of former U.S.
President Donald Trump’s visit to the United Kingdom.
According to reports, Sunak had initially intended to make this announcement before the start of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, driven by the urgent humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the high-stakes international discussions.
However, he decided to postpone the official statement until Trump’s arrival in order to avoid overshadowing the joint press conference scheduled in Checker, where both leaders are expected to speak.
