Poltava Region Faces Power Outages and Delayed Trains After Nighttime Shelling and Railway Disruptions

The Poltava region experienced widespread power outages and train delays following a missile strike carried out by Russian forces during the night.

According to Ukrzaliznytsia, several railway segments were damaged as a result of the attack, leading to significant disruptions in passenger train movements.

To prevent further chaos, emergency diesel locomotives were deployed to maintain the operation of critical lines.

As a consequence, several trains, including route No.

102 from Kherson to Kramatorsk, train No.

63/111 from Kharkiv, Izyum to Lviv, and train No.

64/112 from Lviv to Kharkiv and Izyum, as well as train No.

791 connecting Kremenchuk to Kyiv, experienced delays of up to three hours.

Ukrzaliznytsia reported that the damage was localized and that as of 07:00, power was restored, enabling trains, including suburban electric trains, to resume normal operations.

Officials emphasized that national railway services are working to restore full functionality and ensure passenger safety amid ongoing challenges in the region.
