On the night of September 18, the Polish border guard reported increased activity of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) near the border with Belarus.

Minister of Internal Affairs, Marcin Quervinsky, stated that during the night shift, attempts by Belarusian and Russian drones to enter Polish airspace were observed.

According to the official, these drones were deliberately trying to penetrate the border area, escalating the regional tension. The escalation occurred ahead of the conclusion of the ‘West-2025’ military exercises, which took place in border regions and were closed to the public.

Although Polish authorities have not disclosed all details, they emphasize that the situation at the border remains highly tense.

The minister highlighted that the situation is being closely monitored as incidents have already occurred that could potentially lead to further escalation.Specifically, on September 9, around twenty Russian drones entered Polish airspace, marking a serious security concern.

Meanwhile, Belarusian Foreign Ministry announced that in ten days, they would begin applying measures against approximately 1,500 Polish trucks remaining in Belarus after the border was closed.

Additionally, movement across Lithuanian and Latvian border crossings has been restricted.

The situation remains volatile and worrying for security in the region.
