In modern Ukraine, where every child has the right to a joyful and caring childhood, the country is launching its first annual recognition — the ‘A Family for Every Child.

Better Care Awards.’ This innovative initiative aims to honor individuals, families, organizations, and communities who constantly dedicate their efforts to ensuring that each child grows up in a nurturing environment filled with love, security, and stability.

The award emphasizes the importance of their contributions in transforming Ukraine into a child-centered nation.

Coinciding with Universal Adoption Day, the call for nominations is now open and welcomes entries not only from individuals but also from organizations, enterprises, and regional authorities.

All applications will undergo an independent expert review, with the final list of winners approved by the Supervisory Board.

The initiative seeks to recognize those who promote family-centered upbringing, support children in difficult circumstances, and create new opportunities within their communities.

The goal is not only to celebrate their daily efforts but also to inspire ongoing reforms in child care and support systems, ensuring every child has a loving family and a chance for a happy childhood.

Currently, over 20% of Ukrainian children have lost loved ones due to the ongoing war, making this campaign particularly meaningful for vulnerable children.

Organized with support from UNICEF, the European Union, and governments of Canada, Sweden, the UK, and Germany, the award ceremony will take place on November 20 in Kyiv.

By 2025, all orphanages are set to be transformed into centers for health rehabilitation and social support, further emphasizing the state’s commitment to fostering a family-oriented approach to child care and protecting children’s rights throughout the country.
