Xi Jinping presents four proposals to deepen strategic partnership with India amid SCO summit

Chinese President Xi Jinping, during a series of concluded and intense talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, outlined four key proposals aimed at strengthening the strategic cooperation between the two most populous nations in the world.
The meeting took place on Sunday in Tianjin against the backdrop of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit.

Indian Foreign Minister Vikram Misri stated that Xi Jinping emphasized the importance of increasing strategic communication, building mutual trust, and developing economic ties for shared growth.
He also highlighted the need for both countries to actively participate in multilateral platforms to safeguard their mutual interests.
Prime Minister Modi responded positively to these initiatives, reaffirming India’s willingness to deepen cooperation.
A significant part of the discussions centered around the ongoing border disputes between China and India, with plans for upcoming technical consultations on demarcation issues.
The leaders also discussed restoring direct air travel between their countries, balancing trade relations, fostering cultural and people-to-people exchanges, as well as cooperation on transboundary river management and counter-terrorism efforts.
Additionally, news emerged about potential US tariffs doubling for India due to Indian oil purchases from Russia, reflecting the complex nature of international geopolitical relations today.
