Ukrainian Defenders Recapture Novoekonomichne and Other Strategic Areas in Donetsk Region
The Armed Forces of Ukraine have achieved a significant breakthrough in the Donetsk region, liberating the crucial settlement of Novoekonomichne, which had been temporarily occupied by enemy forces.
The operation culminated in raising the Ukrainian flag over the liberated territory, symbolizing the ongoing restoration of Ukraine’s sovereignty in the region.
According to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, this successful liberation was made possible through the coordinated efforts of assault groups from the 425th ‘Skala’ Regiment, who meticulously cleared each street and house over nearly two weeks.
Nighttime operations, targeted assaults, and thorough cleanups proved effective, as evidenced by the released video documentation.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian troops continue their offensive actions in other areas: on August 31, they raised the national emblem in the center of Novoekonomichne, confirming complete control over the settlement.
Additionally, the Institute for the Study of War reports that the village of Dachne in the Novopavlivsk direction was also liberated.
However, military sources note that Russian command continues employing aggressive tactics, including mass assaults involving former prisoners and drone strikes with FPV devices aimed at Ukrainian positions, complicating frontline operations.
Ukrainian defenders remain steadfast, striving to reclaim every piece of Ukrainian land despite intense fighting and tactical challenges.
