During the recent meeting of the Council of the Member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the leader of Russia, Vladimir Putin, again delivered manipulative statements aimed at justifying Kremlin’s actions while falsely expressing hope for peace.

In his speech, he undiplomatically claimed that Russia’s attack on Ukraine was solely caused by internal issues and Western support, blatantly ignoring the scale of aggression and Russia’s direct military involvement.

Putin insisted that the crisis in Ukraine stemmed from a coup supported and provoked by the West, which allegedly sought to drag Ukraine into NATO, creating a direct threat to Russian security.

However, critics and the international community have strongly condemned these false claims, emphasizing that the real reasons behind the war are entirely different from the Kremlin’s official narrative.

The Russian leader also mentioned efforts by strategic partners such as China and India regarding conflict resolution and expressed hope that recent talks between Russia and the United States might open a path toward peace.

At the same time, he stressed that to end the aggression, the root causes of the crisis must be addressed, and the security balance restored, but these statements are unlikely to convince the world of Russia’s genuine peace intentions.
