Over Two Thousand Ukrainian Schools Have Adopted the ‘Mriya’ App: A New Digital Era in Education

In recent months, Ukraine has seen a significant increase in the number of schools actively implementing the innovative educational application «Mriya».

This marks a major step forward in the digital transformation of the education system, as now more than two thousand educational institutions—approximately one in every six schools in the country—have joined this platform.

During his social media postings, Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov emphasized that this digital ecosystem significantly simplifies teachers’ workflows, automates routine tasks that previously took much time, and replaces paper documentation with a user-friendly electronic system.

According to him, «Mriya» has become a real breakthrough in educational technology.

Currently, the app’s functionality is supported by artificial intelligence, which will soon assist in creating personalized learning programs for each student, tailored to their interests and abilities.

This approach aims to enhance knowledge retention and foster the development of each child’s potential.

Future plans include integrating gamification elements to inspire children and motivate their growth, as well as launching directories of extracurricular activities and new modules for preschoolers and universities in the upcoming year.

Fedorov highlighted that this platform will be the first comprehensive digital environment in Ukraine to unify all levels of education—a significant innovation, as previously different segments operated largely independently.

This development opens new horizons for educational modernization, making teaching more efficient and engaging for students, while also enabling parents to better participate in their children’s learning process.

Despite the positive outlook, the initiative has faced criticism from some educational experts and EdTech industry representatives.

Wladimir Strashko, for instance, expresses concerns about potential monopolization and increased government control that could suffocate private sector innovation.
