Modi Meets Putin: Calls for Peace and Expansion of Strategic Partnership
At the recent Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in China, a significant meeting took place between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The primary focus of their discussion was the urgent need to end the war in Ukraine as swiftly as possible and to seek pathways toward stable and lasting peace.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs of India, Prime Minister Modi reaffirmed his support for the recent initiatives aimed at peacefully resolving the conflict and emphasized the importance of accelerating efforts to bring the war to an end to ensure regional stability.
In addition, the leaders discussed prospects for deepening bilateral cooperation in key sectors such as economy, energy, finance, and trade.
Expressing satisfaction with the growth of their economic ties, Putin and Modi confirmed their commitment to strengthening mutual collaboration and maintaining the Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership between Russia and India.
Modi also expressed his eagerness for an upcoming meeting with Putin during the 23rd annual India-Russia summit scheduled later this year to explore further cooperation and global peace initiatives.
