Modi and Putin reaffirm strategic alliance: Russia and India maintain unity in challenging times

During recent diplomatic gatherings at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit, an exclusive meeting took place between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The event was marked by a warm, friendly atmosphere as both leaders emphasized the strength and resilience of their strategic partnership amid complex international circumstances.

Modi, who is visiting China for the first time in seven years, highlighted the importance of Indo-Russian cooperation for global stability and security.

He expressed support for peaceful resolution efforts regarding the Ukraine conflict and hopes for a swift end to hostilities.

Additionally, Modi shared on social media that he had discussed bilateral cooperation with Putin in areas including trade, space, security, and culture, asserting that their strategic partnership remains a cornerstone for regional stability.

During his meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Modi reinforced his support for peace initiatives and called for increased economic collaboration among the three nations.

Putin, in turn, reaffirmed the long-standing friendly and trust-based relations between Russia and India, emphasizing that these foundations are crucial for the future development of their strategic alliance.

At the SCO summit in China, Putin referenced agreements with U.S.

President Donald Trump regarding Ukraine, expressing hope that these lay the groundwork for peace.

He also reiterated Russia’s traditional arguments pinning the conflict’s causes on Western policies and Ukraine’s internal political changes.
