In a critical development within European and global diplomacy, a significant discussion has taken place regarding security guarantees for Ukraine.

French President Emmanuel Macron, who is set to preside over the upcoming ‘Coalition of Willing’ summit, engaged in a phone call with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.

The central focus of the conversation was forging a consensus around long-term security assurances for Ukraine, a vital step toward peace and regional stability.

Macron shared on social media that, together with European allies, they are working tirelessly to establish reliable mechanisms to ensure Kyiv’s security, taking into account Russia’s ongoing aggression and refusal to engage in peace negotiations.

“We remain united in supporting Ukraine and resolute in our pursuit of peace,” the French leader emphasized.

Moreover, in the context of upcoming diplomatic events, it is known that on September 4th, the ‘Coalition of Willing’ will hold a meeting at the Élysée Palace, co-chaired by Macron and UK Prime Minister Kír Starmer.

According to reports, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will join the meeting in a hybrid format.

The main topic will cover recent efforts regarding security guarantees for Ukraine, as well as assessing Moscow’s stance, which continues to reject peaceful talks.

Recent surveys indicate that over 75% of Ukrainians believe the country should agree to a ceasefire only if international security assurances are granted, highlighting the importance of diplomatic efforts and negotiations in resolving this complex situation.
