Extraordinary NATO-Ukraine Council Meeting: Responding to Escalation and Strengthening Support for Ukraine

On Monday, September 1, a special session of the NATO-Ukraine Council will take place in Brussels at Ukraine’s initiative.
The gathering has been convened in response to recent massive missile and air attacks carried out by Russia, which represent some of the most intensified assaults during the ongoing conflict.
Ukrainian officials have announced that the meeting will focus on addressing the increasing escalation of Russian aggression and its rejection of diplomatic efforts for peaceful resolution.
Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga emphasized that the primary goal is to develop a unified stance and action plan to intensify pressure on Russia and counter attempts to derail peace initiatives.
He expressed gratitude to NATO member states and allies worldwide who continue to show unwavering support for Ukraine.
The Ukrainian diplomat underlined that Moscow must recognize the serious consequences of its actions, including prolonging the war and impacting global security.
This decision marks a crucial step toward bolstering international backing for Ukraine and preparing for further measures aimed at de-escalating the conflict.
