Ukrainian Navy reports shooting down six kamikaze drones during night airstrike

The Ukrainian Navy announced that during a nighttime operation on August 31, they successfully intercepted and downed six kamikaze drones of the SHAHED-136 type.
This significant development was communicated through the official Telegram channel of the Ukrainian Navy, emphasizing the coordinated efforts of naval forces alongside other branches of Ukraine’s defense system to protect the country from threats in the air, sea, and land.
Specific details about the locations where the drones were intercepted remain undisclosed; however, reports indicate that in the port city of Chornomorsk, near Odessa, an air raid alarm lasted over two hours.
Over 40 drones reportedly targeted the area, attempting to strike the strategic port.
Ukrainian defense forces continue to adapt by leveraging naval aviation, capable of countering aerial threats even far from coastal zones, thus helping to secure the entire territory.
Simultaneously, in the night of August 31, explosions were heard in the Dnipropetrovsk region, where the region faced a mass attack involving Russian attack drones, illustrating the ongoing severity and complexity of Ukraine’s military situation.
