Ukrainian General Staff Denies Russian Offensive Claims as Exaggerated and False

The Ukrainian General Staff has officially dismissed the claims made by Russian military officials regarding the supposed success of their spring-summer offensive campaign in 2025.
Describing the Russian reports as gross distortions and outright lies, Ukrainian defense authorities emphasize that this so-called ‘seasonal’ offensive has effectively ended without any significant achievements.
Over the past three and a half years of full-scale aggression by Moscow, Russian forces have suffered heavy losses: approximately 210,000 soldiers killed or wounded, over two thousand armored vehicles destroyed, and more than a thousand tanks disabled.
The Ukrainian military further refutes the Russian false narratives about ‘security zones’ in Sumy and Kharkiv regions, viewing them as attempts to mask operational failures that resulted in substantial losses for the enemy.
In the past year alone, Ukrainian defenders have neutralized nearly 19,000 Russian combatants in the Kursk operational zone, with an additional 25,000 injured.
The Ukrainian General Staff stresses that Russian figures on territorial gains are significantly inflated and do not reflect reality.
However, they acknowledge confirming over 291,000 Russian casualties, including killed and wounded soldiers.
The Ukrainian defense also dismisses Moscow’s claims about ‘high-precision weapons’ and the ‘destruction of Ukraine’s missile industry’ as blatant falsehoods and propaganda aimed at discrediting Ukraine’s resistance.
Overall, the Ukrainian forces remain steadfast in their fight for sovereignty and territorial integrity, despite the ongoing misinformation orchestrated by Moscow.
