In the region of Dobropillia in Donetsk Oblast, Ukrainian military forces have achieved significant success in halting the enemy’s progress.

According to official sources, units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have effectively blocked what are known as the ‘claws’ of Russian occupiers, resulting in several enemy groups being completely isolated and rendered incapable of resupply.

Viktor Tregubov, spokesperson for the Dnipro Joint Forces Operation, confirmed this information during a televised marathon, stating that Ukrainian units managed to intercept two critical crossing points that Russia was attempting to use for rapid advancement and logistics.

Currently, small groups of Russian troops are still operating covertly within the forests near the frontline, but their chances of survival diminish as they are cut off from their primary supplies and logistical support.

These developments date back to August 11, when the analytical center DeepState reported increased Russian activity around Dobropillia, with attempts to consolidate positions near the Dobropillia–Kramatorsk highway.

Ukrainian forces swiftly responded, preventing further territorial gains.

The Dnipro OSUV added that the enemy moves in small units, bypassing Ukrainian frontline positions without heavily engaging, but their mobility is limited without supplies.

On August 16, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that for the second consecutive day, Ukrainian troops have been pushing forward east of Dobropillia and Pokrovsk, strengthening their positions and preparing for further de-occupation efforts.

The latest map from DeepState indicates that the area near Dobropillia has been marked as liberated, confirming the ongoing Ukrainian advance and the gradual return of control over this strategically important region.
