According to the latest social survey conducted by the ‘Rating’ sociological group from August 21 to August 23, 2025, more than three-quarters of Ukrainians — 75% — express readiness to consider a ceasefire only if they receive clear and reliable security guarantees from leading partner countries.

The survey revealed that the majority of citizens think Ukraine should agree to a ceasefire only when security assurances are provided by the USA and European nations.

Others emphasize that such guarantees should include funding for the military, weapons supplies, commitments from allies to defend Ukraine in case of renewed aggression, and international air and sea patrols to prevent further threats.A significant portion of the population supports seeking a compromise that would end the war — 59% of respondents.

Meanwhile, 20% favor continuing the fighting until they regain control over Donbas and Crimea, and 13% support maintaining the line of contact as of February 23, 2022.

Regarding possible paths to end the conflict, most Ukrainians believe that pursuing a compromise involving other countries is the most viable strategy — 62%.

Second is direct negotiations with Russia, supported by 20%, while 11% advocate for rejection of negotiations and prolonged fighting until all territories are liberated. The survey was conducted via telephone using the CATI method (Computer Assisted Telephone Interviewing), involving 1,600 adult respondents from all regions of Ukraine, excluding temporarily occupied territories of Crimea, Donbas, and areas without mobile coverage.

The statistical margin of error is no more than 2.5% with a confidence level of 95%.
