In Lviv, a deeply symbolic and solemn farewell to prominent political figure and former Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, Andriy Parubiy, will take place.

His funeral is scheduled for September 2 at Lychakiv Cemetery, one of the most revered burial sites for notable Ukrainian historical and cultural figures.

According to the mayor of Lviv, Andriy Sadovyi, the ceremonial events will begin the day before, on September 1 at 19:00, with a requiem service at the Archcathedral of St.

On September 2, at 12:00, the funeral rites will be held in the same cathedral, marking the final farewell to the politician.

An approximate mass gathering for the farewell will occur around 13:30 near the Lviv Ratusha on Rynok Square, drawing hundreds of residents and admirers.

Following the official ceremonies, the body of Andriy Parubiy will be transported to Lychakiv Cemetery for burial.

This tragic event occurred on August 30 when an unknown man opened fire with a short firearm in Lviv, immediately killing the politician.

According to law enforcement reports, the attacker fired several shots, resulting in his swift death at the scene.

Investigations are ongoing to determine the motives behind the attack, which is being scrutinized amid ongoing street incidents linked to political conflicts.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky described the act as a meticulously planned and executed act of violence against a key Ukrainian figure.

Currently, the attacker remains unidentified, but preliminary reports indicate multiple shots from a short firearm in the Efrimova street area of Lviv.

The shooting, which involved threats and accusations related to the killing of Iryna Farion, is still under investigation, with authorities working to establish the attacker’s motives.
