Changes in Pension Supplements and Their Distribution in September 2023

In September 2023, Ukrainian pensioners can expect some positive adjustments in their pension payments.

According to the decisions made by the Pension Fund, additional supplements will be provided to certain categories of citizens, leading to increased pension amounts.

However, in some cases, pension disbursements may be temporarily suspended due to verification procedures and identification processes.

Primarily, these extra payments will be allocated to pensioners aged 70 and above, with amounts varying according to age groups: for those aged 70 to 74, an additional 300 hryvnias; for ages 75 to 79, more than 450 hryvnias; and for seniors 80 and older, approximately 570 hryvnias.

It is important to note that pensioners do not need to submit applications for these recalculations—they are processed automatically.

Additionally, solitary pensioners over 80 who require constant care can receive a supplementary payment of 40% of the living minimum for incapacitated persons, roughly equivalent to 944 hryvnias.

To qualify, applicants must provide relevant documentation, including a medical certificate, a family composition certificate, an application to the Pension Fund, and proof that no able-bodied relatives are present.

Furthermore, authorized banks are required to send monthly reports to the Pension Fund identifying individuals who have successfully completed verification and those who haven’t.

In cases of suspicion or discovered discrepancies, pension accounts can be temporarily frozen—funds on these accounts will cease to accrue until the issues are resolved.
