Russian missiles launched from strategic bombers breach Ukrainian airspace: where are they heading?

On the morning of August 30, Ukrainian air defense systems detected the first launches of Russian-made cruise missiles from dismantled and repurposed strategic bombers.
Around 4:50 AM, Russian Air Forces’ X-101 missiles were observed taking off from aircraft bases flying over Ukraine’s airspace, originating from the Sumy region.
Ukrainian military promptly reported the appearance of a high-speed target in the northeastern part of the country, and within minutes, information emerged that the missiles were heading towards the regions of Poltava and Chernihiv, as well as Cherkasy.
These missile launches marked the beginning of a new aerial attack by the aggressor, part of ongoing escalations intended to threaten Ukrainian security and infrastructure.
Local residents and military personnel reported explosions, confirming the launch and flight paths of the missiles towards their targets.
Ukrainian air forces and missile defense systems are actively working to intercept and neutralize the threat, but the situation remains tense and demands constant vigilance and countermeasures from Ukrainian military authorities.
