Russian President Vladimir Putin, ahead of his scheduled visit to the People’s Republic of China, made a significant statement emphasizing the enhancement of bilateral and regional relations.

The Kremlin leader highlighted Russia’s intention to develop a comprehensive partnership with China and to discuss further steps with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Additionally, he accused Western countries of attempting ideological distortion of World War II history and stressed the importance of collaborating with China within global organizations, particularly the UN.

Putin pointed out that economic cooperation is central to this alliance, with China serving as Russia’s main trading partner.

He noted that the two nations have almost entirely shifted to using national currencies for their transactions, reducing reliance on the dollar and euro.

Russia remains China’s primary supplier of energy resources, including oil and gas, and both countries are actively working to lower trade barriers for mutually beneficial economic interactions.

On the international political front, Putin expressed the view that Russia and China share similar perspectives on global security issues and seek closer cooperation within the international community.

He stated that their joint efforts in the UN have reached unprecedented levels, reflecting the spirit of a comprehensive partnership and strategic collaboration.

Furthermore, Putin voiced concern over what he described as Western attempts to revise or falsify the history of World War II, accusing Western nations of engaging in historical revisionism.

He emphasized that Russia and China strongly condemn any attempts to distort historical facts and advocate for an objective recounting of events.

Putin assured that cooperation between the two powers will continue to strengthen, aimed at prosperity, the well-being of their peoples, and regional as well as global stability.
