The football world is again witnessing a major development — English club Newcastle United officially announced the acquisition of a new star player who will reshape their attacking line.

German forward Nick Woltemade from Stuttgart has become the new addition to the Magpies, and this transfer has set a new club record for the highest fee paid.

According to the club’s official website, the 23-year-old player signed a long-term contract, with a transfer fee totaling an astonishing 85 million euros without bonuses, making it the most expensive transfer in Newcastle’s history.

This news surprised fans, especially since earlier media reports linked Newcastle to Ukrainian Roma striker Artem Dovbyk.

However, club management opted for the German player, who has now officially joined the team.

Woltemade is a product of Werder Bremen’s youth system, and last season he scored 17 goals and provided 3 assists in 33 appearances for Stuttgart.

The new striker has already been welcomed by Newcastle with a message: “Welcome, Woltemade!” An equally significant story concerns Newcastle’s key forward, Alexander Isak, who has expressed his desire to leave the club and move to Liverpool.

Currently, he is not training with the team.

Meanwhile, the club’s management rejected a tempting offer of 127 million euros from the Merseyside side, which adds tension to ongoing transfer speculation and complicates the team’s attacking setup in the near future.
