Massive air attack causes extensive damage to railway infrastructure in Kyiv region

On the night of August 30, a large-scale air assault by Russian forces on Kyiv region resulted in significant destruction of railway tracks and related infrastructure.
This led to serious delays in the operation of numerous passenger trains.
According to official sources, including the Telegram channel of Ukrzaliznytsia, many trains are currently running with substantial delays, with some delayed by more than two hours.
This disruption has especially affected domestic routes connecting key cities, such as trains from Przemysl to Kharkiv, from Halm to Kyiv, and routes from Ivano-Frankivsk to Kharkiv, Lviv, Rakhiv, and Odesa.Preliminary information indicates that the attack damaged railway infrastructure, creating serious difficulties for passengers.
Ukrzaliznytsia officials have stated that repair work on the damaged facilities has already commenced and that every effort is being made to restore the normal schedule as swiftly as possible.
They also urge passengers to monitor updates concerning delays through their official online service, which is accessible via the company’s website.The situation remains fluid, as earlier reports described a night drone attack on the strategic Kozjatyn railway station, adding to the tension in Ukraine’s transport sector.
