Hungary affirms unwavering stance on peace support and opposition to EU decisions hampering Ukraine’s European integration
Hungary has clearly reaffirmed its steadfast position in supporting a peaceful resolution to the conflict in Ukraine while refusing to participate in any decisions that conflict with its national interests or hinder regional stabilization efforts.
Before the opening of the EU Foreign Affairs Council meeting in Copenhagen, Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó issued a vigorous statement emphasizing that his country will not accept reckless moves related to arms supplies or any political solutions that are unpopular among Hungarian society.
He pointed out that the meeting in Copenhagen involved intense diplomatic pressure, with certain countries pushing for accelerated military actions and Ukraine’s integration into European structures.
According to Szijjártó, Hungary remains firm in its pursuit of peaceful solutions and the protection of its sovereignty and security.
He warned that proposals to increase military aid and financial support to Ukraine would meet strong resistance.
