In the current information landscape involving Ukraine and Poland, a new fake has emerged circulating online.

It pertains to so-called ‘questionnaires’ supposedly required for Ukrainians to obtain their PESEL number from Polish authorities.

According to Ukrainian diplomats, including Ukraine’s ambassador to Poland Vasyl Bodnar, these documents are fake and bear no resemblance to official procedures.

The fraudulent questionnaires are being disseminated on social media and dubious websites, claiming that Ukrainians must answer questions about Stefan Bandera and the Volhynia tragedy to gain residence permits.

In reality, Polish official forms contain no political or ideological questions, and legitimate procedures for document issuance are only accessible through official government portals and authorized institutions.

Ambassador Bodnar urged citizens to exercise caution and avoid using suspicious documents or links spreading disinformation.

Experts from Ukraine note that the spread of these fake questionnaires could be part of an intentional information attack aimed at sowing discord between Ukrainians and Poles.

These anonymous resources are actively promoting these forms to incite historical conflicts and destabilize regional relations.

The Center for Strategic Communications highlights that such provocation is another attempt at disinformation and regional destabilization.

Additionally, it is reported that Poland has allocated a record-high defense budget of over 200 billion zloty for 2026, underscoring the country’s military and economic preparedness.

Moreover, former Polish President Karol Nawarecki announced that he had not yet signed legislation aimed at assisting Ukrainians but emphasized the need to incorporate provisions that would classify Bandera symbolism as akin to Nazi symbols.

These developments demonstrate how tense the political and historical debates remain and underline the importance of verifying sources and resisting manipulations in today’s information environment.
