On the night of August 29th, Ukraine endured a significant surge in enemy drone assaults launched by Russia, which deployed at least 68 unmanned aerial vehicles of various types and models within a few hours.

This large-scale attack marked one of the most intense in recent times, further highlighting the complexity and multi-faceted nature of Ukraine’s air defense challenges.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force headquarters, as of 8 a.m., Ukrainian air defense systems successfully shot down or suppressed over 46 drones, including Shahed-type UAVs and decoys designed to deceive radar and missile systems.

Nonetheless, despite these efforts, 22 unmanned aircraft managed to hit targets in nine different locations across Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions.

The damage caused by these hits impacted critical infrastructure and residential areas, causing significant destruction.

The ongoing drone and missile assault was countered effectively through the combined efforts of aviation units, anti-aircraft missile defenses, electronic warfare systems, and mobile strike groups mobilized to protect Ukrainian territory.

These recent attacks underscore the evolving nature of modern warfare and the urgent need for continuous improvements in Ukraine’s defensive capabilities to counter such persistent threats.
