According to sources within American diplomatic circles, the United States government may deliver advanced Extended Range Attack Munition (ERAM) missiles to Ukraine as early as this year.

While official announcements have yet to be made, analysts and anonymous sources suggest that the process could start this year, especially given the high intensity of the conflict and ongoing Russian strikes on Ukrainian targets. On August 28, an announcement was made regarding the sale of ERAM missiles worth over $825 million.

This occurred at a time when diplomatic efforts to resolve the conflict had not yet yielded significant results, and Russian aggression continued to cause casualties and destroy infrastructure in Ukrainian cities, including Kyiv.

The contract could involve the delivery of up to 3,350 missiles with a range of 150 to 280 miles (approximately 241-450 km) and accompanying GPS/INS EGI navigation systems.Information about the delivery timeline, including projections that missiles could arrive in Ukraine within six weeks, is provided by sources close to the situation.

If the deal proceeds, these precision-guided weapons could begin arriving in Ukraine later this year.

It is also currently unclear whether any restrictions will be imposed on the use of these weapons. The US government has stated that the sale of these weapons supports American foreign policy and promotes security for Ukraine, contributing to stability and economic development in Europe.

Funding for the project will be provided by Denmark, the Netherlands, Norway, and the US Foreign Military Financing (FMF) program.Earlier reports indicated that delivery might occur within six weeks, making this one of the most significant and anticipated military aid shipments to bolster Ukraine’s defense amid ongoing conflict with Russia.
