Kremlin Reiterates Interest in Meeting Between Putin and Zelensky: Preparations Underway at Expert Level
The Kremlin is once again giving the impression of openness regarding a potential high-level meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Official representatives from Moscow state that they generally do not oppose such a meeting but emphasize that preparatory work must be meticulously carried out beforehand.
According to Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, Russia is interested in dialogue with Kyiv and prepared for negotiations, but insists that any formal summit should be preceded by thorough discussions at the expert level.Peskov highlighted that, at present, this process is not in an active phase, and all negotiations are still in the early stages.
Nonetheless, he reaffirmed Moscow’s interest and readiness for talks with Ukraine.
A significant piece of information was the confirmation that Russia has already submitted its main positions and principles to Kyiv in written form, which now require further discussion and clarification.
