Kostyuk Once Again Impresses Fans with Her Performance — Advancing to the Third Round at US Open 2025
Ukrainian tennis player Marta Kostyuk continues to showcase her high level of skill and resilience, securing her second impressive victory at the prestigious US Open 2025 tournament.
For the first time, she has advanced to the third round of this major competition, defeating several top-ranked opponents along the way.
In the second round, she faced Zeynep Sönmez from Turkey, who is ranked 81st in the WTA world rankings, and the match proved to be incredibly intense, lasting over two and a half hours.
The first set was won by Marta with a score of 7:5, but in the second, she lost in a tiebreak 6:7.
However, in the decisive third set, the Ukrainian athlete managed to rally her strength and claim victory with a score of 6:3.
This was a rematch from their previous encounter in February, where Kostyuk again triumphed.
For the 23-year-old, this victory is a significant affirmation of her growth and potential to push further, as she prepares to face either Mexican player Renata Sarrau or experienced French competitor Dianne Parry in the next round.
