In these challenging times, as Ukraine faces unprecedented security threats, Denmark sets a compelling example of active international support.

Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen announced that this year, Denmark plans to invest over 1.4 billion euros to develop Ukraine’s defense sector, applying what is known as the ‘Danish Model’ — an effective mechanism of financing weapons production through Ukrainian defense industry companies.

According to the minister, last year, contracts worth around 600 million euros were signed within this framework, demonstrating growing and cohesive support for Ukraine.

Poulsen highlighted the remarkable speed and agility of Ukrainian enterprises, which are capable of fulfilling orders within a few months, whereas their European counterparts often require years for similar projects.

This showcases the high potential of Ukraine’s defense-industrial complex and underscores the need to expand the ‘Danish Model,’ which has already proven to be a successful cooperation framework.

The minister emphasized that this approach allows for rapid and efficient supply of modern weaponry to Ukraine and urged its broader adoption.

He stressed that increasing military aid and mobilizing resources are necessities—driven by current circumstances.

‘Time is not on our side.

Any delays will cost Ukraine dearly—long-term costs could escalate even more.

We must act now, without hesitation; otherwise, the path ahead will be even more challenging,’ Poulsen stated.

Moreover, the Norwegian government recently announced a nearly seven-billion Norwegian kroner aid package to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense, specifically mentioning the Patriot missile systems, further contributing to Ukraine’s defensive capabilities.
