Belgium Expands Military Support for Ukraine: An Additional 100 Million Euros in 2025

Amid ongoing international efforts to aid Ukraine in its fight for independence and security, Belgium has announced plans to allocate a substantial additional financial contribution toward military assistance.
According to Ukrainian Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal, Brussels intends to provide Ukraine with an extra 100 million euros in 2025 as part of NATO’s new initiative titled ‘Priority List of Ukraine’s Needs.’ This contribution complements the already committed support, as Belgium has previously supplied over one billion euros worth of military aid to Ukraine.
Deputy Defense Minister Shmyhal expressed sincere gratitude to the Belgian government and people for their unwavering support and solidarity during this crucial period for Ukraine.
Officials highlight that this step is an essential part of broader international efforts to counter aggression and defend Ukraine’s sovereignty.
It is also important to note that this aid forms part of a larger package of support from the USA and NATO, facilitated through mechanisms like the Priority Ukraine Requirements List (PURL), which is financed by contributions from other Alliance members.
European countries, including the Netherlands and Norway, have already announced assistance worth billions of dollars, with Norway allocating approximately $695.7 million specifically for Ukraine’s air defense systems.
