The management of Italian football club AS Roma has officially announced that Ukrainian striker Artem Dovbik, who previously played for the team, is now on the club’s transfer list.

According to reputable sources such as Roma Press and insiders within the training camp, the decision was made by Roma’s new head coach, Gian Piero Gasperini, who personally met with the player and informed him that he is not part of the team’s plans for the upcoming season.

The coach pointed out that Dovbik failed to impress during pre-season preparations, leading to the club’s decision to seek a new club for the player before the transfer deadline of September 1.

Leading candidates for the transfer include clubs from other European leagues, specifically Spanish «Villarreal», English «Newcastle», and Italian «Milan».

Last season, 28-year-old Dovbik showcased his scoring talent with Roma, netting 17 goals in 45 matches across all competitions and providing four assists.

Notably, during his stint with Spanish side «Girona», he became the top scorer in the La Liga championship, highlighting his high-level skills.

It is also known that in the current season, Dovbik has only played 21 minutes in the starting lineup of Roma during Serie A matches.

Several top European clubs expressed interest in acquiring the Ukrainian forward, but Dovbik has not yet agreed to a move to «Villarreal».

This keeps his transfer situation highly dynamic, with many factors still uncertain as the transfer window approaches its close.
